I bought the airplane in December 2002. I was looking to buy a Cherokee 140 when I saw "Princess" in a hanger in Michigan, north of Detroit. She looked like someone's abused spouse. It broke my heart to think someone could treat an airplane with such disrespect. But when I checked her medical history (her log books) I was quietly impressed with the meticulous maintenance she had received. Her engine had 1,099 hours,  oil was changed every 25 hours and there was a history of excellent compression readings. 

We rolled her out of the hanger and I flew her in a light snow. Her rate of climb was impressive. Back on the ground I negotiated a price that included a fresh annual, and a week later I flew her home to Kansas City.

Back home I gave Princess a face lift, inside and out. We're married for life. She's hangered at Lee's Summit, MO. By the way, I promised her there WOULD be a fly-in at Clinton this year. Cessna owners, pilots and club members, please don't let Princess down. Register now!
